Like most other people, as one year ends & another begins I contemplate how the year went professionally & what I can do better in 2016. So as I was perusing different reports I got to thinking - what products did I sell the most of in 2015 & why??? Lord knows if it were up to me to track we'd be in big trouble but luckily for me I work in a salon with a retail manager & a good inventory system. So here are the top 10 products that kicked ass in 2015 & helped me have an amazing year styling hair.
Lets start with 3 honorable mentions that just missed the Top 10 but I couldn't work without.
The Brazilian Blowout trio of shampoo, conditioner & deep conditioning masque are AMAZING! Perfect if you have dry and/or out of control frizzy hair. You do NOT have to have a brazilian treatment in your hair to benefit from these products. I often tell clients that the shampoo & conditioner combined with the straightening balm will not only smooth out of control hair but give you a sense of what it would be like to have the actual treatment in your hair.
Kerastase Fluidissime is a reallllly nice spray in for shine & control - & smells great too.
Sebastian Re-Shaper hairspray is the BEST! It has a strong hold but you can still run your hands or brush through your hair & style & restyle it! This product would definitely have made the Top 10 but it's so affordable - even better for you - that it didn't quite make the list.
10 - Living Proof Full Conditioner - most people with finer hair want to skip the conditioner - well Living Proof Full is the perfect conditioner for someone whose hair definitely needs some conditioning but it won't way down fine hair.
9 - Kerastase Form Fatale is a strong hold volume gel - I work this gel through the crown or anywhere you need volume and voila - you got some big hair girl! By far my most effective volume product of 2015.
8 - Sebastian Microweb Fiber is the only men's - or short haired women's product to make the list. Has a nice strong hold to create any style but is still flexible & malleable - doesn't at all have that weird, stiff gel feel.
7 - Kerastase Ciment Thermique - I'm not gonna lie - I'm OBSESSED with this product - it's by far by favorite of the year. Probably would have been higher on the list but it's really not meant for everybody. Most products designed for damaged hair are too heavy for most people - this is the first product designed for damaged hair that is truly lightweight!!!
6 - Living Proof Anti Frizz Conditioner - what can I say - a great conditioner for people with frizzy hair... the end.
5 - Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Shampoo - great universal shampoo made for anybody & it's a plus that it's sulfate free.
4 - Kerastase Bain Vital Dermo - Calm - I'm crying as I'm typing - this product has been discontinued - the absolute HORROR! This hypoallergenic soothing shampoo is for a sensitive scalp & was perfect during the dry winter months.
3 - Living Proof Anti Frizz Humidity Shield - I used & sold the hell out of this product all summer long. Spray your hair with this after you've styled it & the product acts as a barrier from humidity. And yes - it really does work. I do a mean blowdry - don't get me wrong - but the humidity shield helped keep my clients blowdries perfect even in the most humid of situations.
2 - Living Proof Anti Frizz Shampoo - helps with frizz but won't make the hair too greasy or heavy.
1 - And drumroll pleassssse - my most sold product of 2015 is.... Kerastase Nectar Thermique. My fave leave in of 2015. Creates 85% less breakage while blowdrying & has great thermal protection from hot tools. Provided the hair intense shine & nourishment. Not one single client who took this product home from the salon was disappointed.
Who knows what 2016 will bring from a product perspective. Some years no new reallllly amazing products come out & other years my head is spinning with all the options. It'll be interesting to see how the list changes at the end of 2016.
Hope my top 10 products were intersting to peruse - what product could you not live without in 2015? Let me know here or over on social media.
Cheers - Hal
