Someone asked me recently if I liked where I lived & I said hell yeah.
Pennsylvania - and Philadelphia more specifically - is a great location. You can be in so many other major cities - like New York, DC, & Baltimore just to name a few within a few hour drive or an even shorter jaunt in a train. We're not landlocked & have access to all sorts of waterways & beaches. We're lucky enough to have all the major sports teams & great arenas & culture out the wazoo - think the Philadelphia Art Museum & the Pennsylvania Ballet to the Liberty Bell & Constitution Center just to name a few. Great food & the best of all four seasons. I can go on & on.
Who knew I was so PA proud. So it gave me the idea to do a Pennsylvania edition of my weekly obsessions. At first I thought I wouldn't have enough to share but then I ended up having to narrow it down!
PENNSYLVANIA ROOTS ART WORK
When I first bought my house in the Philadelphia suburbs I was looking for Philly or PA inspired art work for the walls & found this one on Etsy & immediately ordered.
PHILADELPHIA HAND TOWEL
Someone gifted me this & I can't remember who but I absolutely love all the landmarks on this handtowel from the City of Brotherly Love - it hasn't left the front of my oven since.
PENNSYLVANIA WINE STOPPER
I'm pretty sure this was another cute gift someone gave me with a bottle of wine. Wine never lasts long in this household so this stopper is in heavy rotation - what can I say?!
PHILADELPHIA THEN & NOW 2018 WALL CALENDAR
How cute is this?! This also comes in a book edition which I don't have but the calendar's pretty cool too.
PENNSYLVANIA POWDER ROOM GUEST TOWELS
Yes - I am a freak & for some reason feel more sanitary with throwaway paper towels after I wash my hands then with a hand towel everyone uses. Am I the only one who feels this way?! I love these PA theme ones I found randomly at Bed Bath & Beyond.
Are you guys as hometown proud? And if so what are some items you have around your house to show your state spirit?
Cheers - Hal
